I stubbled across the Amazon defends 'Pedophile's Guide' and was disturbed by what I read. This news is spreading across the net at a crazy amount of speed. People are outraged about Amazon selling The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure [Kindle Edition] by Phillip R Greaves 2nd . Curiosity got the best of me, so I logged onto Amazon.com to check it out. The first thing I noticed was the amount of negative reviews. Then I checked out the book description:
"This is my attempt to make pedophile situations safer for those juveniles that find themselves involved in them, by establishing certian rules for these adults to follow. I hope to achieve this by appealing to the better nature of pedosexuals, with hope that their doing so will result in less hatred and perhaps liter sentences should they ever be caught".
“While it is not my intention to promote or excuse this practice, I would rather see pedosexuals conquer the world than hear of even one more child being killed because another pedosexual-pedophile is driven into a state of pedocidal-psychosis, or a paranoid-panic-attack, due to the constant hate-mongering which can be heard from every corner of the Earth, demonizing every juvephile regardless of the quality or character of their sexual relations with minors.”
I applaud Amazon for thier stand against Censorship, I am firmly against it in general, myself. But, there has to be a some sort of line that prevents books like this to being published. If there had been a book called," 'The Terrorist Guide to Bombing and Mass Murder' or 'The Rape Guide to Love and Pleasure', I wonder if Amazon would still be standing behind its First Admendment excuse. Had this been intended to be a guide for prevention, perhaps "Prevention" should have been embedded in the title and the book description. In my opinion, that is fricken common sense. But from this author's own comments, I don't get the impression that this is a preventative guide...
Amazon is pretty much giving the authors free rain over what they wish to publish without taking any responsibility...I find it interesting...that while Amazon is firm on its stand of censorship for the product it sells ...that is doesn't have the same consideration for the consumer. How many times has a customer's negative review or comment been deleted due to censorship? I guess when it comes down to Amazon...Money Overshadows Moralty.
Amazon's Response:
Amazon believes it is censorship not to sell certain books simply because we or others believe their message is objectionable. Amazon does not support or promote hatred or criminal acts, however, we do support the right of every individual to make their own purchasing decisions.
*NOTE* I do want to add, that I have the utmost respect for most of the independent and self published authors out there. That this article has no bearing on thier works or my appreciation for thier art...

I do agree with your comments on this book on Amazon!!! I personally think no book like this should be allowed to published. Thanks for posting!! but I also know some great self published authors as well and respect them highly!!
I was disgusted and outraged that Amazon would allow this e-book to be sold on their sight.
What kind of person would write this book and what kind of company would sell/promote it?
From the authors own description - this is a how to guide for harming children - period.

I saw the buzz about this on twitter this morning, I just checked just now and Amazon took it down.
Good thing!
Some things that amazon does really makes me angry, thank goodness that they put it down.
I've been hearing about this book, but it seems a little shocking that Amazon has it. Free speech and all that, some things are just going to far.
