SOME OF MY MOST ANTICIPATED BOOK RELEASES FOR MARCH 2012

Cover Art - "Last Dragon Standing" by G.A. Aiken

Posted by Lori On Tuesday, March 09, 2010

G.A. Aiken has released the cover to the forth installment in the Dragon Kin series on her Yahoo Group. According to Amazon, the title will be released on September 7, 2010.

I know what they see when they look at me. The charming, soft-spoken dragoness bred from the most powerful of royal bloodlines. A disguise stronger than any battle shield that allows me to keep all suitors at tail’s length. A technique that’s worked until him. Until Ragnar the Cunning, handsome barbarian warlord and warrior mage from the desolate Northlands. Unlike those who’ve come before him, he does not simply submit to my astounding charm and devastating smile. Instead, he dismisses me as vapid, useless and, to my great annoyance, rather stupid!

Yet I’ll allow no male to dismiss me. Soon he’ll learn my worth, my many skills, and the strength of my will. For this one challenges me enough to make me want to ruthlessly taunt him, tease him and, finally, when the trap is set, bring him to his knees.  (Not final blurb)

I love this series!! I didn't know another one was coming out. Who's the dragon, Keita? I hope she writes one about Eibhear, too! Thanks for posting and thanks for dropping by my blog today!

For a book series that's labelled as romance and erotica and has dumb hunky jocks on its covers, Dragon Kin actually has relatively deep characters and plots. I love the dialogue, which is often funny (esp in books 2 & 3), and the situations, and the general byplay between the males and females, humans and dragons.

The unnamed POV in the blurb is indeed from Keita.

I collect excerpts from books I like - here's what I got from the first book, Dragons Actually:

“And then what are your plans?”
Annwyl frowned. “My plans?”
“Yes. Your plans. You take your brother’s head, your troops are waiting. What is the next thing that you do?”
Annwyl just stared at him. He realized in that instant that the girl had no plans. None. No grand schemes of controlling the world. No plots to destroy any other empires. Not even the plan to have a celebratory dinner.
“Annwyl, you’ll be queen. You’ll have to do something.”
“But I don’t want to be queen.” Her body shook with panic, and he could hear it in her voice.
“You take his head, you’ll have little choice.”
“What the hell am I supposed to do as queen?”
“Well . .you could try ruling.”
“That sounds awfully complicated.”
